Blossom, the modern banking platform powering credit unions, has partnered with april to make it easy for credit unions across the country to offer embedded tax filing to their members.
Through this partnership, Blossom has embedded april’s Filer directly into its digital banking platform. Credit unions that use Blossom can now provide a fast, free tax filing experience for members—without any additional technical work. For credit unions, this offers a new way to engage members, increase deposits, and provide more value during tax season. During the 2024 tax filing season, five of Blossom’s partner credit unions have rolled out tax filing, allowing their members to file for a low flat fee without leaving their credit union’s digital banking experience.
“Unlike big banks and fintechs, credit unions often don’t have the same resources to build the digital tools today’s consumers expect,” said Chris Moore, CEO of Blossom. “By integrating april, we’re giving credit unions an easy way to add a high-impact service that helps members file their taxes while also strengthening their financial relationship with their credit union.”
For members, the experience is designed to be simple, seamless, and stress-free. Unlike traditional tax filing platforms, april integrates federal and state tax questions into a single flow, dramatically cutting down the time it takes to file. Personal details from the credit union are pre-filled, so members don’t have to enter information that’s already on file.
“Credit unions are built on trust and financial well-being, and tax season is a key moment to deepen those relationships,” said Ben Borodach, CEO of april. “By bringing april into the Blossom platform, we’re making it easy for credit unions to offer tax filing as a natural extension of their services—helping their members file faster and keep more of their money.”
